The new Arthur Temple, Jr., Upper School Academic Center includes two separate buildings. The larger classroom building is a two-story, 17,900 s.f. wood framed on concrete structure with Austin stone & hardi siding, SIPS roof structure over lightweight wood & steel trusses with metal roof, operable windows. Each classroom opens to an outside corridor and has its own HVAC to complement the operable windows as an energy saving feature and helps the building melt into the beautiful scenery seen from inside the classrooms. The student center, which also houses the new teacher’s lounge and a student commons area, is a single-story, 3,500 s.f. structure composed of the same materials as the classroom building, but with a modified bitumen roof.
