Lewis recently completed construction of this 2,500 square foot, two story, build out, which includes several sustainable features and houses sportswear retailer, Icebreaker. The project included high end and unique finishes including natural hickory eco-timber flooring and a 10 foot tall aluminum and shag carpet decorative loop.
All Icebreaker products are made of natural merino wool and sustainability was the focus for the Owner and Lewis during construction. To meet this sustainability goal, Lewis used a natural hickory eco-timber on the floor and low VOC paint. Additional scope includes metal stud and drywall walls, grid ceiling with perforated metal tiles, shag carpet, casework, handrails, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical, a/v cabling and installation, telephone and data cabling and installation. The stores focal piece is a unique 10 foot tall 1/4 inch aluminum curl covered in shag carpet.
The schedule for this project was extremely tight to ensure the store opened in time for the busy holiday retail season. The project experienced continual design changes related to branding and merchandising for this flagship store, and our team was able to prioritize items that could be completed after the store opened – during off hours – while still meeting the critical finish date.
